The Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Platform has announced the selection of the Top 10 contemporary dance artists and collectives whose works will be featured at the Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase from 10 May to 13 May 2025 across Ljubljana (Slovenia), Rijeka (Croatia) and Zagreb (Croatia).

The selected artists
The 10 artists selected by the Artistic Board of the Moving Balkans platform are (in aplphabetical order) Patricia Apergi (Greece), Filiz Bozkuş Al (Turkey), Saša Božić & Simone Aughterlony (Croatia), Emese Cuhorka & Csaba Molnár/ En-Knap Group (Slovenia), Simona Deaconescu & Vanessa Goodman/Tangaj Collective (Romania), Stanislav Genadiev & Violeta Vitanov (Bulgaria), Linda Kapetanea & Jozef Fruček/RootlessRoot (Greece), Christiana Kosiari (Greece), Barbara Matijević & Giuseppe Chico (Croatia), Marko Milić (Serbia).
The Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase will be an opportunity for the selected artists to present their works to an international audience of dance professionals, arts organizations, and the public. The showcase aims to create an artistic network that fosters dialogue, exchange, and future collaborations across the region and beyond.

Through festivals, workshops, and touring programs, Moving Balkans aims to encourage innovation, create opportunities for artistic exchange, and build a contemporary dance network in the region. The Moving Balkans platform was launched in early 2024, co-funded by the European Union.
