The call for applications of the Biennale College Danza 2024 has been announced and will close on March 8th. 16 dancers between the ages of 18 and 28 will be selected along with 2 choreographers for an intensive immersive residency in Venice: a unique three-month programme to study under the mentorship of great international masters, develop their personal artistic skills, and acquire the practical capabilities required to break into the dance market.
Biennale Danza Director Wayne McGregor will create a collaborative work with the young artists alongside his Company Wayne McGregor (in residence for Biennale Danza 2024) for the monumental Sala Grande at Palazzo del Cinema. The students will also have Cristina Caprioli working directly with them in Venice. In a bespoke immersion in Caprioli’s work, the young artists will have the opportunity to delve into this polymath’s process in the creating of a piece from her repertoire.
Biennale College dancers will also collaborate with 2 emerging choreographers selected within the Call 2024 who will each present their own short creations during the 18. International Festival of Contemporary Dance of La Biennale di Venezia.
